Medical Director - Onsite Clinic Services- Primary Care

Reporting to the Chief Medical Officer or designee, the Medical Director - Onsite Clinic- provides leadership to Northeast Medical Group (NEMG) partnerships designed to improve the overall health and well-being of self-insured members at the clinic siteThe Medical Director, in collaboration with Regional Operations leadership and Practice Supervisor, ensures that day-to-day clinical operations are consistent with and help achieve the direct-to-employer objectives and targetsThe physician will provide primary care services to patients 70% of his/her time and provide administrative leadership approximately 30% of his/her timeIn this role, the physician will participate in setting the overall direction, goals, and objectives and will provide input regarding key partnership financial and population health metrics, clinical and operational issuesThe Medical Director is responsible for providing the leadership to achieve consistent, high quality care within the region and support clinical program development.

Responsibilities:
Director duties:
Provides medical direction and administration including, but not limited to, developing clinical practice guidelines, policies, procedures and other protocols to ensure state-of-the-art primary care services that are of the highest quality for the direct-to-employer partnership.
Participates in team meetings to support the partnership.
Establishes linkage between primary care, specialty and hospital care, occupational health, pharmacy, care management and other social support resources on behalf of members.
Establishes quality metrics and participates in peer reviews as needed.
Physician duties:
Directs patient care including obtaining history, performing physical examinations, ancillary test ordering as indicated, prescribing medications and treatments as clinically indicated.
Makes referrals for secondary and tertiary care.
Provides health maintenance visits, evaluating for immunizations, and providing guidance on USPTF recommended screenings.
Documents all patient encounters in Epic.
QualificationsM.
Dfrom an accredited medical school and is board-certified in in Internal Medicine or Family MedicineCurrent CT license or ability to obtainCurrent DEA and Controlled Substance RegistrationPrevious work experience as Medical Director preferredExperience in a multi-disciplinary setting and business/fiscal responsibilities preferred.
Knowledge of direct to employer partnerships and/or population health is desirable.
Recommended Skills Administration Clinical Practices Clinical Works Finance Health Care Internal Medicine Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
